What is this?
This website is a tool to make contacting state lawmakers about police reform easier. It's a guided environment in which to roll the ball forward. That process will give you an opportunity to get comfortable with forming opinions and advocating for them.
Meet the Momentum's mission is to streamline the process of contacting state legislators for anyone who sees a need for change in the way their state approaches policing. This tool serves to channel that passion into a collective voice calling for achievable, impactful policy measures.
Who is it for?
Everyone who wants to end racially motivated police brutality and misconduct in America is welcome here. No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, we all have a role to play in changing the system. These days it’s all too easy to be convinced that people with different opinions can’t work together. We don’t accept that.
For some of you, sending emails from this website may be your primary engagement with your representatives. For others, the resources here will serve as stepping stones for your efforts in self-education and advocacy of broader, bolder goals. Whether this is your start point, end point, or anywhere in between, there’s something here for you.
Who are we?
Meet the Momentum is an organization created by several recent college graduates, some with political backgrounds and some without. We have a broad spectrum of policy positions and beliefs but are united by our common desire to see concrete change in the American system of policing. It’s time to Meet the Momentum.
